Meet the team
Romac Transport Manager
A key part of Romac’s work is delivery and the Transport function is therefore a key role within the company. The Transport Manager’s role is varied and consists of a number of key elements:
Customer interface – managing the key interface between Romac and the customer on all aspects of transport and delivery
- Managing & collating customers request for order fulfillment
- Planning and scheduling of bespoke customer requests
- Agreeing costs and methods of work
- Managing and planning both ad hoc and scheduled work
- Scheduling work loads
- Ensuring Crews are fully briefed prior to the commencement of each job, including the type of staff/skills and equipment required, type of environment, customer contact, safety considerations and escalation procedures
- Ensuring all administration is made available to both the warehouse & crew
- All request are entered and planned on the Transport Management system
Communication – ensuring that communications between team, site and customer flow smoothly for each project
- Managing and coordinating the crews in ensuring each job is carried out to the agreed standard
- Liaising with customers to update job status
- Liaising with other Romac sites in ensuring relevant equipment and resource is available
- De-briefing crews
Administration – ensuring that all transactions are fully documented and communicated to appropriate parties
- All PODs are available and scrutinised and ensuring sign off
- All customers paperwork is channeled back to source
- All legislation is gathered and reviewed
- All vehicles are adhering to planned maintenance schedules
- Customer KPIs are produced
